THE CLOWNS - LITTLE RUDIE - (Rare Live Performance)

This is the original band called The Clowns who were a very successful act based in Dublin, Ireland. While extremely popular in their home country, they also toured the UK, as well as the United States.

This rare video shows them singing their Top 5 Hit "Little Rudie" live on TV for the first time. It is the only occasion they performed as a five piece band on TV.... just weeks later The Clowns became six when they were joined by Christine Delahunty on vocals. Sadly the band's lead vocalist and songwriter Padraig O'Rourke passed away suddenly in 1997. This video is a tribute to his memory and all the happy moments we had together making this record. I would also like to thank the Clowns bass player Alec Clince for providing additional information on the band.

A considerable effort was made restoring this 1980's video to it's former glory. The video was recorded in the days when the medium had the usual washed out colors and grainy images. The restoration process enhanced a lot of these colors while at the same time suppressing digital grain. However certain digital side-effects can been seen but we think it looks a lot better than the original master we had to work from.
