  • @JCAlcatraz let me tell you ive seen some mma fighters who have no businees coaching anybody anything, fighting and coaching demand very different skillsets.I know from people who have been to his schools that the coaches ,never mind the students are absolute novices at grappling and many at striking too.Robert himself is talented and picks up stuff quickly. One thing youll notice is that he has no credibility in ireland as an mma coach, zero.Never fought not trained with anyone here.

  • @JCAlcatraz the opponents hes fought are all low level,he was teaching and charging for mma classes before he knew a thing about it and you can see the useless standard of his coaches still on youtube. You will not find many fighters in full contact sports above 35 and a handful worldwide approaching 50 ,im 39 and finished training in the past few months due to injury and time comitments after 27yrs in martial arts and combat sports.

  • @billysue2 Mr. Jealousy whats your back round???

  • He'll stick to what he knows. You don't have to master all the techniques in order to teach some grappling techniques, just stick to what you know. This is what Robert does. I find there is so much jealousy in the Martial arts scene in Ireland. Why do you care that Robert is teaching MMA? If you think he's not qualified, then keep trainning where you are happy and stop this negative shit.

  • My name is Eric O'Keefe and I coach MMA out of Tristar/Zahabi MMA. I've coached the likes of GSP, Kang, Loiseau, Murphy, Watson, Torres, and the list goes on. I don't think i'm the best coach out there, but I must know a thing or 2 if these guys have entrusted me with trainning them. I've helped Robert in the past, and cornered him in his last fight. Robert is a great athlete, and he learns very quickly. His grappling has gone from beginner level to very decent. Robert is smart, and is a pro.

  • Lower levels, hmmm?

    On your good self.

You, my friend, sound like a keyboard warrior who is willing to critisize others, whilst not having the cajones to enter the cage yourself. And unless you're in your 50's, age isn't a barrier for competing in MMA, as long as you have decent skills and fitness. Also for Europe, BAMMA isn't exactly a small fish show.

  • @JCAlcatraz hed pick up anything if he persisted but the vids on his site are a joke, the instruction is terrible on the grappling.Coaching and performance are different.Ive trained with roger gracie several times but can honestly say there are better grappling coaches in dublin based on experience.ID be very surprised if any student of robs did aything in mma even though he himself will do ok at the lower levels.

  • @JCAlcatraz they learned sambo in their native countries and arent coaches at MAI.I said I havent fought pro mma but have been sparring it for at least a decade, before anyone at MAI even started training it.

  • @billysue2 Also who says that there aren't decent grapplers at MAI. I've rolled with some decent standard Russian and Ukranian Sambo fighters when I've went over to Dublin.

Anyway my closing statement here is something my Grandpa used to say as way of advise, "If you've not got something nice to say, then say nothing at all."

A BJJ fighter or Wrestler critisizing an active MMA competitor for coaching MMA is like an NFL Quarterback saying that a Rugby player can't coach Rugby.

  • @billysue2 Perhaps I should clarfy that whilst I am 'only' a Judo Shodan, I have been studying Judo both in the UK and US since 1983, and was graded Shodan in 1988. I've just never decided to grade in Judo again.

Also, are you deliberaty ignoring the names of the guys who INVITE Rob to train with them? Are you seriously saying that after training with Eric O'Keefe, GSP, Tom Watson, and Ian Freeman, that Rob won't have picked up some decent grappling skills?
