I'm a relative novice and I have problems telling apart elms from beech trees. The leaves seem very similar. Can anyone help?

go to about.com forestry and you will find loads of info on trees. Their forum is great for asking any question about tree ID and you'll get a response from a forester. Look under the thumbnail picture of host Steve Nix for the forum link. For some reason I can't put the URL's in this reply.
