The southern brasilian of state Santa Catarina and its capital Florianopolis are a classic tourist destination because of the wonderful beaches,the laid back way of life and the well kept tourist infrasrtucture.
I visited it ,following my principles, in a low season,an autumn.The reward was obvious.All the sweetness of the landscapes,soft colours and a nonchalance were there leaving far away the teeth of the summer.
Cellist Yo Yo Ma has impressed me with his Bach cello suites.Like many many western(?) musicians (A.Rubinstein was one of the first)he seeked his inspiration in the country of "order and progress"(!)In his elegant cd "obrigado Brasil" i fished "carinhoso" a world wide famous tune by Pixiguinha (1897-1973)one of the most famous composers of choro and popular music.
Try to spot the cello in this recording.Hard to find. It blends in the ensemble.Purely, a sign of the wonderful musician Yo Yo Ma is.Thanks mr. Ma.

My God! How nice to hear other people, play our music, Brazilian music. Congratulations to Yo Yo Ma and clarinetist Paquito D'Rivera, the beautiful execution. Thanks for that pearl of music. Listen "Affectionate" composed Pixinguinha was tasty too.
