Come see Henry Grimes at the Angel City Jazz Festival on 10/2 at REDCAT in LA.

i was present at this concert. what a surprise it was for EVERYONE in the audience when mr. grimes UNEXPECTEDLY ended up playing on this performance (he was scheduled to perform several days later as a special guest)! to see brown/parker/grimes, and then graves/brotzmann in a row - that totally KILLED me!!!
the day of this performance marks the long-awaited return of henry grimes! all three are amazing, but that's just stating the obvious.

Wow...loving this. Cant believe I missed it. Thanks for posting this.

Henry Grimes' arco work accompanying Brown is amazing. His technique is very fluid and fast.. Good to compare Parker's who seems much more rooted in more typical bass
pedal notes to root the sound. Great performance by all!

Rob Brown is awesome, but most spectacular when he is in the presence of Mr. Parker, who deserved deified status. This is phenomenal.

sax is awfully high in the mix..

Rob Brown is one of the more interesting relatively younger players on the scene. He does not get the press of some of the others but is a very original player.
