I was at UB from '81 to '86. Decided to take guitar lessons one semester and I walk into the office a man named Sal Salvador. Had no idea who he was but there's a copy of Guitar Player magazine with him on the cover. A note from Chick Corea on his desk, pictures of album covers on the wall and I'm thinking who is this guy? Well I found out what the jazz world had known for years. I only took lessons for two or three semesters but I still remember him as very nice guy and a terrific teacher.

I studied with Sal in 1966 in NYC when he was in the Henry Adler buiding and in the Ed Sullivan theater building. I miss him a lot. I was shocked of him passing in the way he did.

OMG! I took lessons from Sal at University of Bridgeport in 1989-90. Anybody here from that era? Any classmates? He was the GREATEST!!!

Last time I saw Sal was nearly 40 years ago. I took lessons from him for a couple of years from his home in Stamford when I was in my teens. I think of him now and then...wish I had the skill (and smarts) to learn more from him when I had the chance.

wow, so good to see my old boss (Sal) and friend Mike, doing their thing.
Thanks! It was a great honor to have Sal as a guest and document him!
