So this is what Windows Compact Embedded 7 looks like! The unskinned version of WinCE7 looks basically quite a lot like WinCE6, but perhaps this new version of Windows CE has got some new optimizations to use ARM Cortex A8 and the more advanced hardware acceleration fully. And perhaps Windows CE 7 is meant to receive layers of customized user interfaces put on top of it, like Windows Phone Series 7 and like other potential UIs that partners of Microsoft surely are working on. Can this be considered an alternative to Windows 7 for ARM processors? I don't know. How much can it really do?

  • das a long 3 sec man!

  • 3 seconds boot time! :0 Silverlight applications, touch controls, gestures. This can be such an amazing tablet platform if Microsoft slaps and awsome UI on it, and finds way to port all of the Windows Phone 7 apps on it! Microsoft do it please!!

  • 'looks like windows!' :D

  • @sorinleinad from 0:23 to 0:33- 0:34 is 10-11 seconds

  • whats the hardware??

  • actualy are 13-14 seconds...

  • What hardware is this? Freescale's i.MX515 devkit? The current version of CE 7 does not include a BSP (build support package) for the i.MX51. More info!!!

  • @siliconfilm Win CE isn't meant to be used "clean". It will always have some kind of third-party GUI running on top of the OS, like WP7 and the eee-pad.

  • @dezso911 Silverlight with c++? you must be barking mad. C# and VB. And you can't judge an OS based on a crappy app running on a prototype... the OS itself looked to be running very smoothly.

  • it is more like android and iOS are Google and Apple's answers to Win CE, as Win CE has been around a LONG time...

  • Ha ha

That is painfully slow, no where close to be answer to Android .

Look like Win CE6, Silverlight is only C++ supported.
