A reading at Emory University in April 2009 by award-winning poet Li-Young Lee is the author of five critically acclaimed books, the most recent Behind My Eyes (2008). Rose (1986) is the winner of the Delmore Schwartze Memorial Award from New York University; The City in Which I Love You (1990) won the Lamont Poetry Selection; and the memoir The Winged Seed (1995) received an American Book Award from the Before Columbus Foundation. Lees other honors include fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, The Lannan Foundation, and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, as Well as a Whiting Award.
