Did you drop your shield to cast magic while fighting? I found that if you do you can't do a lot of fighter things no matter what else you do.

I absolutely love the music from the ending ceremony (the enhanced version, at least). It's great background music while reading stories from One Thousand and One Nights. This was my favorite game in the series, graphics be damned. :)

Funny. I remember doing the ending every way with one fighter who could multi-task.

The QFG2 remake replaces the vampiric moon with a moon that has the Demon Wizard from QFG4's face on it.

I forgot to mention that in the same interview where they gave that explanation, they also said that after they introduced Rakeesh and Uhura they realized that they wanted to tell a story about their homeland as well.
-
Heh, so a design flaw resulted in a more elaborated-on story? Fascinating.
Now THAT'S the game design of old. How I miss it...

The official reason was that the Coles thought Shadows of Darkness would be too difficult, especially since you start it without your equipment. Wages of War has the Simbani village as a very explicit training area intended to boost the hero's abilities.

I wonder why they decided to release Wages of War instead of Shadows of Darkness as they originally advertised.
THese games are great. Y'know, they released a bunch of collections for Sierra's various "Quest" games not that long ago that you can still buy today. I wonder why they did not include the Quest for Glory nor the Conquests of series.

I remember our first computer and I remember my mom used to play a game where there weren't any graphics just a text driven game. But for me if the game had a parser then I consider it interactive fiction. soooooo why don't you just shut yo mouf.
And as far as maxing out ones honor I've done that dozens of times and still not gotten the sword from rakeesh. I'm thinking there were different max points for each character class. I am huge dork.

LOL Quest for Glory, even when it was known as Hero's Quest and the earlier ones required typing...they do not count as "interactive fiction" You're confusing Sierra with Infocom. :-P
I had always thought that you had to get a maxed out score to get the sword from Rakeesh. I had done this only a few times, but In any event it didn't matter if you imported your character into the third or the fourth or fifth you could just lie and say you were a paladin or any other class and it would take your word for it. It's a shame they don't make these interactive fiction games anymore.

Nah, I think you just have to have high enough honor. Raising honor is kind of annoying, if I remember right, so it's kind of nice they were nicer about it here (the Chieftain in QFG3 siphoning your honor without stop anyone?).

Actually, the reason you can't finish it as a fighter is not because you know magic.
It's because you did the WIT test. You can still have magic as a fighter to finish it but you can't do WIT.

Is THAT it? :O I had no idea! Dang, in the future I'll have to remember that, I thought it was just magic in general.
Darn, WIT is so much fun to do though.
