  • SON-OF-GUN; JUST MADE IT!!! In 1959 Conway Twitty's version of "Danny Boy" peaked at No. 10 thus just making the Billboard's Top 10 and it spent a total of 18 weeks in the Top 100...

A few of the artists who have covered it are; Glenn Miller, Judy Garland, Bing Crosby, Sam Cooke, Link Wray, Johnny Cash, Connie Francis, Andy Williams, Sil Austin, Elvis Presley, and countless others!!!

  • @dpbethlem maybe Conway thought the JLL would steal the show, so he had the piano mic turned off...

  • They are not singing together and someone forgot to put a mic in the piano or something.

  • @mrgbennet I know. I am quite familiar with his rock music in the 50's and 60's, but I didn't think that the world would be great enough to have him do a duet with Jerry Lee, who is another one of my favorite rock singers from that time. Ina sense, it seems somewhat too good to be true.

  • @BDMchess Why ? , Conway (Harold jenkins) started as a rocker at Sun.

  • These are the last two people i ever expected to be singing together for some reason

  • About the year 1960, I remember Conway Twitty had an LP out with his Rock 'n' Roll hits and some of Elvis' hits, Don't Be Cruel and Jailhouse Rock. The cover was a sullen face of Conway with eyes kind of looking up at you like he was lower than the camera. About that time I also remember him being billed on tour in Canada, as second in popularity only to Elvis Presley in the southern U.S.A. Wish I had bought that LP record. I have never seen that collection of songs by him since.

  • Heard the original 45 of Conway Twitty's version on XM5. I couldn't believe it was an American singing. Until I saw the artist display on the radio dial, I would have guessed that it was Lonnie Donagan. It also reminded me of some very early Beatles records like "My Bonnie". A shame that it's not available on YouTube.

  • @Brutus2 maybe because Twitty's vocal is what's important?

  • can't hear the fuckin piano
