  • You don't know what you're talking about.

The concert wasn't free, it was $10/ticket.

All of that money wasn't for her, she has a LOT of people working for/with her, and they have to be paid, too.

Obviously you're not a country fan because if you were, you would know that Carrie is HUGE HUGE HUGE right now, and only getting bigger. She has had TEN number one songs, not two. I was there that night. It was an amazing concert and it WAS worth it. Carrie is as big as it gets in country right now

  • so she is worth Elton John type of money....that one concert was the students' activity budget for over 2 years worth....she recieved more money than 4 actscombined.....read the news article...

  • first of all the concert wasnt free.... it cost the students money to bring guests.. and im sure every student brought guests.

and second of all, the concert was sold out to the maximum aloud capacity by the fire marshall. it was the largest crowd ever for the annual concert.

  • 3rd of all...read the news story...4th of all..she had yall for dinner!!

  • Coming from someone who knows: almost none of the administrators, faculty, staff or students at etsu give a crap. This is why the student activities fund is a joke, and why the activities on campus are so crappy that all the students leave town every weekend to go visit their families or do other things. It's going to take a cultural change before anything substantive actually happens. I doubt that's going to occur anytime in the near future...

  • my point is...they got taken..i called Miss underwood's management and left a messege .of course no call back..but for the money etsu ponied up for her..they could have a had a festival of some sorts...jazz or anything but they paid her a king's ransom and felt like they got a good deal...in reality a slick tongued promoter made off like a bandit...did the presdient of the college resign?? he caused them to lose the football program and now this blunder..he appears to have no control

  • you are an idiot!

  • LOL!!! Well I was there she was ok...but not worth 543,000. I liked Jesus ake the wheel but come on...I go to ETSU and my homie cussed out on of her entourages...ALL THAT SHIT IS A JOKE!!

  • Hi, I posted a video response. I know you have the right to your opinion, but in the opinion of the fans there that night..it was worth it. You seem to think Carrie isn't a big deal, but my video might change your mind.. please watch the whole thing (it's only three minutes) and tell me what you think. :) HAGD

  • Don't make Carrie out to be a bad guy because she's not. She's a beautiful person inside and out and she cares about her fans.. No one forced ETSU to pay what they did.

  • Yes, she is worth that kind of money. Just becauae she's new-ish, doesn't mean she doesn't deserve it. What does she have to do in your opinion to be more deserving? If you want to get technical, Carrie has had one more #1 in the US than Elton has. I'm not interested in the news article. You weren't here. One of the reasons it cost us more is because Carrie was doing a sold out tour when they asked her to play at ETSU and they had to fit it in costing her more travel time among other things.

  • and/or pick some other acts instead that didn't cost as much but I guess they wanted her there and were willing to overlook their budget or thought they could afford it. So if anything it's on the school fault as the cost and all that is prearranged ahead of time. So they should have gone w/ someone else if they thought it was too expensive for their budget.

  • So she is a big draw at the moment whether you may agree w/ it. But I agree that the University should have looked at their finances before they agree to have her there, especially if they couldn't afford it.

  • Carrie Underwood has had all her songs to go #1 on the country charts. Carrie is bigger than you know, especially in the country genre. Almost all her concerts have sold out and has played to over 1 million people, which is about how much the big acts like Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, etc do.
