  • Guys, you can stop arguing already.. the car had NO BOV. That noise is flutter/compressor surge. As for all the e-warriors that persistently tell me that the "turbo will blow up" - I did 30,000kms on that turbo setup over 2 years, and its still going strong today, making over 500rwhp the whole time, all day, every day on pump fuel. If that doesnt disprove everyones theory then I dont know what will. People can say whatever they want behind computer desk, but this is 1st hand info, believe it!

  • its not compressor surge. its just a turbo using itself as a wastegate, as without a BoV, the air has no where to go when the throttle closes, so it simply charges back through the turbine (blades) which causes the flutter which is actually the blades cutting through the air. comporessor surge is when there is not enough torque being supplied to meet the speed of the compressor, as a result, the turbine slows. then when there is enough torque the compressor speed up rapidly. fast to slow. surge.

  • @pipelinewill Does this sound and look anything like this? -> watch?v=nCj6Spwl1CU

  • @BoardUnderMyFeet that is not true in any way, shape off form, the uploader knows what the fuck he is talking about

  • @lastminuteresistance you forgot the part where compressor surge is air being pushed back thru the turbo because it has no place to go and also the part where your wrong. and yes, the flutter is compressor surge, yes it shortens turbo life, but not by much. also you don't appear to know what a waste gate is.

  • Compressor surge only happens when building boost....

  • @markwtf82

    dafuk no bov

  • omg i want that 4 my ring tone

  • @markwtf82 thats a cheap doser for a VL the professional way to get the sound is how he said it which is what you have Jheeeeezus

  • @markwtf82 What is your reason for not using a BOV? Wouldn't it be better to use one, and not have your compressor wheel lose momentum every time you shift?

  • @crazyredneckwifknife is because you are venting to atmosphere. Not having a ago at you, but Thought I might though my 2 cents in.

  • @markwtf82 Just to clarify dude, its not a compressor surge. I am not meaning to insult you in anyway, but they are commonly misunderstood, that 'flutter' you hear cannot be coming from the turbo having a compression surge, these are not possible under normal operating conditions. If the turbo was to have a compression surge it sounds nothing of that nature and the car would be jumping violently with the boost coming on and off quickly. What the 'Flutter' sound is coming from what I have gather
