  • BMW ///M 3 all the way. the mercedes only went 2 more mph on the straight way but BMW won everything else. The C63 has bad handling and the BMW looks better, the C63 is plain ugly. Thats my opinion

  • I would take the M3 over the Merc for one simple reason: proper manual transmission

  • Also. To sum it up. The last n/a engine BMW made had almost 700hp in mclaren f1. And almost 20 yrs ago. Merc make all that power and yet BMW m outperforms or keep with it. Case in point have merc build 6l and BMW build 6l engine and I promise you BMW will trump. Merc used forced inductions up untill the 6.2 to keep up with BMW. Now because of regulations they have to force induce because of the number territory comp is in. Who will buy a BMW that gets 8mpg cause that's what it will have to make

  • For starters BMW M was before merc bought AMG. From my recollection in which I followed these cars for over 20 yrs I own a s550 and a 2005 m5 they are in competition it takes more know how to extract big power from smaller engines. This is recipe Ferrari and BMW have in common. A true engine builder doesn't result to displacement

  • @JNhe3MYe you miss the point. the engines are designed to part of an efficient balance of weight , power handling etc based on the product the company wants to achieve. If the Beemer wanted to increase its displacement to compete with the marc, it would have to sacrifice something else or fall out of its intended niche. Without its ratio of power to handling etc it wouldnt be defined as an M3, just a merc in a different badge. So on that level it is pointless to compare: designed to be different

  • the M3 is a great car bus i just dont want one. It has a desirability factor of 0. You don't see its benefits in the real world and the Merc would make you grin like a lunatic every time you turned the key in the ignition. The Merc all the way.

  • why did the use the sadan c63 that isnt fair because they used the coupe m3
