Where Is Washington series. Debate of Steve Carlson, 4th CD-Minnesota Independence Party candidate for U.S. House, regarding border between Mexico and United States created by the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. Debate with Betty McCollum, incumbent Representative, and Teresa Collett, Republican challenger. Question was about the Dream Act. Carlson argues that S.B. 1070 should be pre-empted by Congressional action, and that international border zone would help bring factory jobs back to Arizona and other border states. He advocates language and cultural rights (Spanish and Mexican) under the treaty, and affirmative action in contracts, and refers to the 5-point proposal on his website, listed on the video. Other international discussion regarding China.
