Walking bass lines here with a little melody on the top. I was going to edit my mistakes but maybe it will help you to get it right. Sorry I sometimes have a mental block with the tablets I'm on! Nurse!! Have fun :o) As I say in the video I used to be a guitarist!

  • a big wow for the lesson , how you simplify complicated techniques , cheers again !

  • @alaipaimei Thanks you're very kind. That's made my day. :o)

  • Max, I've said it before, you're a great teacher! And I love this lick - even for a beginner like me, it seems doable...thanks as always.....Jerry

  • @jernieg Thanks for that, not been on this page for sometime. :o)

  • Max, how much is that crisp metalic sound is due to the strings, the maton? guitar. or just your amazing ability.

I cannot get even close tom it

  • @artistrob Thanks for your comment, the guitar is a Maton 808TE which has a nice balanced sound. I play nearer the bridge maybe as I like a brighter tone. (I play a Telecaster Electric ) The strings are Elixir 11's. I just like the percussive tone. Check out my work with Cherry Lee Mewis on the album Southbound train.

    All the best

  • @artistrob Hi Rob, Hope you got a chance to check out Cherry Lee Mewis Southbound Train CD tracks.

All you Need, Shake That thing, Tried Everything etc is some of my best recorded playing on a album. Cheers Max :)

  • @edudzzaj The Maton 808TE cost £1200 here in UK a year ago. Broadway Music Wimbledon, London. Great shop.

  • @mjbils thanks for your kind comment.Max

  • Hey Max,

Loving the videos. You are officially my guitar teacher! I like the way you break down the videos into digestible chunks with strong technique where one video can keep me going for weeks.

  • @artistrob Elixirs do have a very nice crisp sound, and are great strings, but they sound a lot different on a Martin Dreadnaught :)

808TE models seem to have a very crisp treble-y and clear midrange sound.

It's more like a 000 style body, and they use "new" wood types. (as in less traditionally used types)

Wonder what one of these would cost you in Norway, I like the clear sound and nimble size.
