Huffington Post editor Roy Sekoff appeared on "The Ed Show" Thursday night to dissect Fox host Glenn Beck's stunning D.C.-rally promotional video, in which Beck compares the event to the moon landing, the civil rights movement and the rise of Abraham Lincoln.

While guest host Cenk Uygur hammered Beck's shilling for the gold-selling company Goldline, Sekoff picked up on Beck's pitch to "restore America's honor."

"My question is, when did America lose that honor?" Sekoff asked. "Did we lose that honor when we invaded Iraq for nonexistent WMD? Did we lose the honor when we opened Guantanamo, when we allowed extraordinary rendition? Did we lose the honor when we said waterboarding wasn't torture? Or maybe did we lose our honor when Glenn Beck said the President of the United States had a deep-seated hatred for white people?

"Because if it was those things," Sekoff added, "he's a little late to the game."

  • Ok, so now after the fact, where is the fury over how insignificant this speech actually was? The whole thing boiled down to God, God, God and troops... Just useless. He didn't do anything that people don't hear in church every freakin week.

I'm not hearing anyone getting mad about just how WORTHLESS this was, The one group of dummies feel inspired for... a day. I'm not hearing anything post-speech. And that alone should be disturbing. The whole thing was Capone's vault all over.

  • @dEdGrimley

It also proved that any shock jock nutjob with a teevee show can mobilize an army of ignorant, mindless yahoos to congregate at the drop of a racist slur in pockets of the defeated Republican Mid-West. And that is very scary...

  • @o8QWERTYo8 oh yeah, and seeing how well things are going over there we would REALLY want to come visit

  • RESTORE THE WORLD? What The Fuck!!!

    ~

What a wanker, aMERICA, your truely fucked.

Just stay away from us here in EUROPE..

    ..theocratical bullshit.

  • Wow. Glenn Beck has really just given up on subtlety entirely, hasn't he?

'BELIEVE,' what, was 'REMAIN GULLIBLE SO I CAN CONTINUE TO CON YOU' too direct?

  • @22Goofball22 well, I think it is good if you guys want to champion the constitution, but it isn't right to pick and choose what you want. You can't just say, I don't like the Mosque in New York, it makes me emotional, so let's say it isn't a religious issue and throw out the constitution.

You can't pretend that any of the founders being Christian means they founded America as Christian. In fact the constitution was a firewall between faith and government, to protect both.

To "see past the profound hatred" that animates the Tea Party, is to gaze in the face of idiocy and fear.

  • @baracine wow really.... I mean really.... seriously.... really. I feel bad for you. All the time you here about the contempt and hate coming from the this movement. But all that hate is really coming from the accusers. God Bless you, I pray you will see past this profound hatred eventually.

You are so naive, I'm thinking of blocking you for your own good. Anyone with more of 5 years of schooling knows Fox News is a joke. It's commonly called Faux News. Even its "humor" is perverse. Fox News almost got banned in Canada (not that anyone was watching) after Greg Gutfeld insulted Canadian soldiers, when our boys are dying daily in Afghanistan fighting another one of your unjust wars. And nothing is "based off of" something. The expression is "based on". Read a book.

I - and the rest of the world - think holding a rally of all-white inbred and ignorant tea bagging racists on the anniversary of MLK's dream speech at the place he gave the speech is twice the desacration as building a mosque on Ground Zero would be. Muslims have to worship where they live. Those Tea Baggers traveled hundreds of miles to offend the rest of the country.
