Termini of two of the four broad gauge (5'3"/ 1600mm) lines originating in Victoria that venture north into the standard gauge territory of NSW. Broad gauge locos wait to take a train south into Victoria from the border town of Tocumwal NSW. Three broad gauge locos are stabled near Deniliquin rice mill, then lead a loaded wheat train south towards Victoria, 75 kilometres away.
I was SM at Deniliquin in 1980 .I can't recall any loco being bigger than a T class ..possibly because of weight restrictions over the old road/rail bridge over the Murray at Echuca .
I read the very large rice mill has closed and the station building demolished ... shame indeed.

I'd say it would have stopped over at Echuca and then continued on to Melbourne

Nice Video, I really liked the music and the selection of X, S, & XR locos leading the wheat train.

Another great video mate. Top work. Do you have any more recent grain train workings in Victoria?
