In 1974, this ad introduced Dixie's collectible Knock! Knock! Cups, which were printed with one of dozens of different knock-knock jokes. Watch the ad to learn the proper response to set-ups like "Amos who?" and "Olive who?"

Though in the 1930s through the '50s, Dixie Ice Cream Cups had lids printed with various collectible images and factoids (see an ad for them here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1UgYn...), these were the first Dixie Cups printed with more than just a decorative design.

Get a better look at the packaging and a few of the cups from Flickr user Neato Coolville (Todd Franklin): http://www.flickr.com/photos/neatocoo....

I remember this DIXIE KNOCK KNOCK JOKE cup:

    Knock Knock!

    Who's there?

    Dennis!

    Dennis who?

    Dennis brush your teeth!

I remember seeing these cups in the 1970's as a companion to Dixie Riddle Cups.
