It completely shits on the Real Robot theme of the gundam series. The plot was just a bunch of heavy drama on kiddy level at that. 00 does suck and if you give me a development studio with a few million dollars then I will happily make an anime.

Real Robot is a "classification" created "by MSG" I repeat "by MSG". This is not an opinion. This is not debatable. The phrase was coins by that series. It doesn't literally mean a real robot you moron.

It describes mecha series that are aimed a realistic robot use like Xabungle, L-Gaim and Votoms. Goodness

@krizzex Also human story elements have nothing to do with being "real robot" or not. I've seen straight up super-robot animes that, besides the mecha element, have brutal and depressingly realistic views of the human reality, and animes that are far more "real robot" than Gundam could ever hope to be, yet are just downright hilarious and silly.

Don't worry, I went through the same idiot UC fan-boy phase when I was your age too. Some day you'll see how silly you are and grow out of it.

@krizzex Except Tomino never said jack-shit about "real robot genre" when he made 0079. He simply wanted to make a more believable, down-to-Earth giant robot anime. But straightforwardly believing 18 meter, perfectly humanoid, LAZ0R SWORD wielding, flamboyantly colorful machines could be used as SRS BUSINESS war machines? You don't know how much child-like ignorance it takes to accomplish that.

@ShuHibiki Reading this hurts the brain... Mobile Suit Gundam was the anime that "created" the real robot series literaly. There was no distinction between Super and Real before it was made and declared by its creator..

MSG and Turn A are my favorites, not Zeta. Its typical of one who is extremely ignorant to write full paragraphs leading completely off of their own assumptions without any verification. The fact that you don't know MSG is classified as a real robot series says that well enough.
