Horror of female circumcision - 8 Feb 08

Proxynuker is right! I'm from Europe, where infant male circumcision is uncommon (except for Jews/Moslems). Genital cutting performed unnecessarily on either boys or girls is a breach of their human rights. I am amazed that US women, who abhor all forms of non-consensual female genital cutting, so readily sign up their newborn SONS to circumcision. American parents who have thier sons circumcised are too cowardly to watch this awful procedure themselves.

Women need to stand up for women, and damand and take the rights that are ours,
It breaks my heart to think a women would put another femal through such pain and degragations.

People should stand up for people. Many men are against FGM while many women are for it. It goes both ways.

Mind your own culture, don't try to change someones elses because yours is more "correct". Everyone thinks their culture is the best. Get off your high horse and worry about yourself. :)

Your opinion is self-refuting and nonsensical. In order for all cultures to be equally true you must believe in cultural relativism. If you are a relativist then you cannot say that one person's opinion is more correct than another's, and that means your opinion is no more correct than the one you are attacking.

You cannot use relativism to attack another's opinion since you have no foundation for absolute truth. In other words, in order for your opinion to be true, it would have to be false.

Typical woman when somethings happening to a male they couldn't give less of a shit, but when a female gets something wrong with her they bitch and moan and complain.

BY THE WAY, I was circumcised as a baby and I'm a male and I also live in the united states. We have no room to talk about how disturbing or "wrong" other cultures are... You think female circumcision is wrong? i'm pretty sure most cultures think getting your whole body sliced apart and having plastic put in it is wrong. Or having saline bags in your chest to make your boobs look bigger?

Quit being so quick to judge people and judge yourself.
