How did they ever cram so much talent into such a tiny package?

She actually studied as an opera singer (she has a master's degree in vocal performance, I believe), so this is more than "just" belting. She has technique behind it, unlike many singers who sound too much like they're yelling.

@thisisthedream A girl asked her if she could sing a short song.

1. SHE's FREAKIN AMAZING. 2. She's sooo cute!
-
@thisisthedream properly could you sing for us?! lol
-
If I was in that situation I'd probably be like "Can I go hide under a rock now?"
-
:) !!! she sunk down in her chair after she sang!! how adorable! of course I'd probably do that in the same situation
-
doesn't she have a master's in Opera? Apparently she was gonna be an opera singer but accidentally got cast for a musical she tried out for on a whim.. I wish I had that luck and talent

I love how she was so embarassed after she sang. =)

I think that was when this guy who was in the audience dressed as the Phantom of the Opera stood up and held out a rose to her.

Kristin is wonderful, but did anyone ask Ellen Greene to sing!?

Unfortunately no. Bryan Fuller did talk about how great her voice was when he was discussing a possible musical episode for the show. (And Barry Sonnenfeld read an adorable e-mail from her where she was organizing the bus ride to San Diego.) But she didn't get to sing for us.

Why do people start laughing at :30? Anyway, that was a great performance! And I love how modest she is afterwards

I think that was awe in reaction to her voice when she really started to belt it out. It's possible someone did something funny that I missed though.
