'Tis the last rose of summer,Left blooming alone, All her lovely companions Are faded and gone. No flower of her kindred, No rose bud is nigh, To reflect back her blushes, Or give sigh for sigh.
I'll not leave thee, thou lone one, To pine on the stem; Since the lovely are sleeping, Go sleep thou with them; 'Thus kindly I scatter Thy leaves o'er the bed Where thy mates of the garden Lie scentless and dead.
So soon may I follow When friendships decay, And from love's shining circle The gems drop away! When true hearts lie withered And fond ones are flown Oh! who would inhabit This bleak world alone?

What a shame she's passed on. I only discovered this talented singer quite by accident a few days ago when I wanted to find an example of a certain piece and though I never heard of her, I was impressed by her voice and interpretation. She has a website that has several video "animations" of various soprano repertoire on it, but apparently I can't put a link here. Just look under her name.

eine wunderschöne Stimme, die leider viel zu früh verstummte..

I'm back. This is the purest sound in the universe. I cannot stop going back to hear this. An angel put this on you tube. Thank you.

A beautiful song, by any definition. Elizabeth Parcells imparts a very special and unique interpretation. The World was blessed by the presence of this wondrous voice and much was lost by her passing. May God Rest her Soul.

I just discover "her" trough those excerpts of Maria Stuarda: astonishing simply ! ! What a shame she died so quickly !!!

nice. I just much prefer this piece when a choir sings it. I enjoy the depth; it's more interesting.
