  • You are the idiot. Belly dancing orginated in Norther Africa. It was a way for women to prepare thier bodies for child birth, and evolved into a dance we call "Belly Dance". This my culture I know. In fact as Egypt spread its culture ACROSS Africa the dance took on many forms. All African dance utilizes strong hip movements and isolation of body parts. As the dance spread South they replaced the metal beads you see on her dress for grass, feathers or in east Africa frabic tied at the hips.

  • Belly Dancing comes from Egypt. Although Arabic and other Muslim countries have adopted belly dancing, it comes from Egypt and North Africa.
