  • I play both upright and bass guitar. They are both tuned the same. Some upright bass players tune there bass in 'solo' tuning, which is higher, but still has 4th between the strings. Upright basses are not tuned to 5ths like a violin or cello.

  • hilarious, but great new inventive "bass" instrument of the future! can't wait to own the solid body SUB U-Bass by KALA! =o)

  • RE:bass guitar and string bass are tuned the same

Depends on the player. 99% of bass GUITAR players have their instrument tuned like the top 4 strings of a guitar. WHY?? Because they were six string guitar players before they opted for bass guitar and that's what they're used to. VERY few bass guitar players tune their instrument like a string bass. By "string bass" I mean the regular stand up bass one sees in traditional jazz trios and symphony orchestras.

  • Great sound and show. How's the damn thing tuned? Like a regular bass guitar or like a string bass?

  • Just brilliant!
