OK, here's video #2. I'm pulling this one from the archives as this footage used to be on my website--www.chrisbuono.com--and now it's back by my own popular demand. This is a snippet is from an unusual performance of a cult Miles Davis tune called "Jean Pierre" that I took part in at the 2004 National Guitar Workshop in New Milford, CT. The band you see was aptly named by the students, 'The Four Horseman' and the riders in question were myself, Dave Martone, Terry Syrek, and James Hogan--not an easy crowd to keep up with, lemme tell ya. During the head I'm laying down some delay pads--see the June issue of Guitar One for my article on delay tricks and try to catch the video on guitaronemag.com. The solo starts out with me rockin' a vintage TS-808 after which I go into a Ring Modulator foray courtesy of my Frantone Glacier; all the while dropping a plethora of hybrid picked ideas. Things get ugly once I kick in the Z. Vex Fuzz Factory and proceed to obliterate any semblence of fragility this solo may have had--actually, did it? This band of brothers only played together two times (previously in 2003) and we planned on doing a full length CD but alas, real life and distance made that nearly impossible--man, we had a deal n the table too. BUT, one tune did come to life called "The Four Horseman" and you can hear it on Dave Martone's latest (and very awesome) CD 'When the Aliens Come' on Lion Music. Hope you dig ...

  • Rad solo. I remember being 15 and sitting in on one of your pedals/effects/loops demos in the Canterbury School library; I remember it utterly blowing my mind. And also...this song...about a mermaid at the faculty open mic? Or maybe I hallucinated that. Either way, it was an incendiary performance.

  • yeah it's hogan back when he had long hair
