And there is a reason for that. In the 80s there wasn't as much segregation as now. It was ALL about the music, dancing and expression then. Now it's all about people being divided!

@TheNouveauxdecadence I was alive for all of the decade. lol The only intersection between white / black / gay / scene was the radio mix shows (WBMX especially). No one club existed for everything. Club drugs have blurred those lines a bit since the end of the 80s, so they're important in that respect. On the video, I just thought it looked a little like when Fantasy Records tried to market him as "hetero". :-P

May I also ad that a band like Culture Club and a figure like Boy George had a MASS ausience and he wasn't exactly what you would call straight and conservative and had ALL types of people at their shows from trendy teenagers to granny's to black people, to gay, straight e.t.c.... Which proves my poiint as a phenominen like Boy george today wouldn't appeal to such a divers selection of audiences as it did in the 80s!

And one last point is this track had a very Electro Breakdance sensibility which Breakdancer's could pop and lock to which is why you also have straight Breakdancer's in it. Did you miss the leather gays in this????
