Silent Super-8mm home movie scenes aboard the High Endurance Coast Guard Cutter Winona (WHEC-65) on Ocean Station Victor patrol. A few scenes, filmed when I had the limited opportunity, mainly showing the weather and seas as we searched for survivors from the Danish Freighter Heering Kirse which sank in a storm 200 miles north of Midway Island in December 1971. 31 of the 36 people on board were rescued. We were called off of our Ocean Station Victor patrol to aid in the search but we found no survivors.
