Scout decides life is better on the other side of the metal dog gate. A 55 pound Blue Heeler decides that a dog gate will not keep him in the laundry room. His ribs are a bit sore but he seems to be fine. I sent an email to customerservice@fourpaws.com to let them know about a "possible" design flaw.

  • Blue Heeler's are not meant to be locked up. Or left alone for that matter.

  • @Orclos1701 You are absolutely correct! In a perfect world, I would be a millionaire and would never have to go to work. Too bad I can't take him to work with me. Thanks for the insight.

  • What's on the other side of the gate that s/he wants so bad?

  • @ralphthylo nothing but "freedom" on the other side of the gate. Freedom is defined as having free roam of the house.

  • If no dog can do it, a Heeler sure will.

  • Gotta love Heelers. Humans in canine form I tell ya. My Heeler thinks he's human 90% of the time. So ridiculously smart.

  • @DAVID0665 I'm sure gvandenb realizes that. My blue heeler is amazing and a perfect pet and she's a house dog, I give her all the exercise she needs and I'm sure that one gets it too. When school starts she's left alone in the house up to 7 hours or more/five days a week and she's still perfect, not even domineering or anything. Also were in a city, average size yard, anddd she's still happy..

  • We have two blue heelers in Panama. The locals think they're jackals- go figure! Prior to these, I always had Ger Sheps and thought there was no dog smarter. I was wrong. These guys are problem solvers extraordinaire.

  • took him a while...but I never doubted his will...oh what videos we would see if we had cameras everywhere...very cool dog

  • I love how he sits stuck for a second like....damn maybe not such a good idea

  • oooo poor dog !

  • Know-it-alls are such a pain in the ass aren't they?

  • my dog (i have a video of her on here) she lives inside to sleep at night and every now and again tries jumping over the gate.

  • @gvandenb they should put a warning on the box when buying the gate "NOT ACD proof"
