I think this Middle America joke doesn't JUST refer to white trash folk. I can't explain the other type of people they're referring to, but if you've ever had a layover in some lame city like Indianapolis or watched "Viva La Bam" then you'll know what I'm talkin about.

@BevoBill31 It should be obvious that Illinois (more specifically Chicago and the surrounding area), is a center for culture and diversity and should not be lumped in with the backward hill folk population.
