A clip of a Neil Finn concert I directed at the Palace Theatre in London (where Les Mis used to be). Wendy and Lisa of Prince fame are in his backing band.

@TomBVoxman Lisa Coleman is the one playing the organ in this clip. She and Wendy Melvoin still record together, score TV & films and do a radio show. They just won an Emmy in August for creating the "Nurse Jackie" theme song. Wendy & Lisa's Youtube channel is called "girlbros." From the interviews I've seen, they have immense respect for Neil as a songwriter/musician.

Wow! I was at this concert! It's one I'll never forget, as I only really went there to see Wendy and Lisa play. A few of the crowd were shouting to W & L to play some of their stuff, which Neil was quite willing to let them do, but she looked embarrassed and declined the offer! Shame!

On a more serious note... I don't find it very respectful towards an artist's efforts to always be cross referencing them with former colleagues.
Wendy and Lisa have released a total of 5albums (the 5th released yesterday, I believe) have countless collaborations with several artists under their belt and are responsible for the soundtrack in the hit TV Show HEROES. They credit extends far beyond than having played in "Purple Rain".

Sounds incredible...apiproductions...could you post footage of this whole song? I love the Hammond B accompaniment. That would be awesome!

@jensjams Hi - I'm afraid I just took snippets as a demo of videos I've directed. The sound was mixed in a truck behind the theatre - really nicely!
