I'm going to follow Bird--THE Bird--for the rest of his racing career, probably beyond. Even when he didn't win, he won with class. Best in the Preakness, fantastic closing kick in the Belmont...a story that helped a confused nation celebrate. Thank you Bird.

Yes, Disney's When You Wish Upon a Star is overdone. But I can't help thinking of it when I watch this race, which I never seem to get tired of.

I love this horse. I love him. If anyone ever, ever tries to send him to a slaughterhouse - because he can't go to the breeding shed - I'm sure that no one would ever consider death as the logical future for a Kentucky Derby winner like Mine That Bird.

MTB is one BEAUTIFUL horse. I had such a hard time rooting for him and Rachel Alexandra. I wanted the Triple Crown win to continue yet I wanted the only "girl" in the race to win. I love them both equally! :)

This horse probably cost me 3K by winning the derby (had all my money on Pioneer, and everything was working u and down and within) but you know what with a performance like he put together the only thing I can do is tip my hat off to him. Honest as honest can be, second in the Preakness and third in the Belmont. The only thing he's missing is a lunch box, he goes to work everyday.

Top of the list for coolest ever horse and rider. Calvin and the Bird rock et. I could watch the 09 derby race in total awe 1000 times.
