FAT - Universal

wipe ur partition out. usb flash drive / hard drive / any partition

Usually format to Fat32 to have universal compatibility

However if u transferring larger single files over 4GB then format to ntfs

  • i cant see the partition editor in in my administration..i try to search it on software center and click use this source and i dont know if i have installed it..sorry im new to ubuntu..thanx

  • @kuyajhet search gparted in the software center, it should be in your menus after u installed it

  • how can you show the system tab in the upper left corner?beacause i dont have any..im using ubuntu 11.4

  • @kuyajhet humm 11.04, u can use the classic mode, just logout at the bottom of the login screen change it to classic then login

  • @sicario901 With the MiniTool partition manager wizard, it is easy for you to delete partition, copy partition and other operations. I can't post link, you can search online--MiniTool partition manager wizard,you will get the download page, some editions are FREEEEE. :)

  • i need to go back to windows too or at least i wanna have both but only have ubuntu at the moment when installing windows i try to click format in the custom install bit but get error. what if i delete the drive? will that work then install. I just need a clean version of windows installing??

  • @DoomTra1n Not sure what u mean, but im guessing you want to reinstall windows? and dualboot? then install windows 1st, then install linux. There will be an option during your linux install to resize your partition and format it
