US Army baby bust - General threatening jail time for pregnant soldiers

A US general has threatened to throw soldiers in jail who either become pregnant or father a child. Although the action is legal, it has raised questions about the power commanding officers have over their troops in wartime. And even though the general has justified his actions saying that he needs every soldier assigned to his units, does this strategy really promote cohesion in the ranks?

Its a fact that most women, once they feel comfortable and don't have to worry about money or a place to live IE: serving in the military, will allow themselves to get pregnant. Its a scam for women to be in the service. They join ( enlisted ) find a "good" man, get pregnant and spend most of their time tending to those needs then they get out at their ETS. All while having everything picked up and paid for then they enter the VA system.

Its simple if you are female and you get pregnant out of wedlock or you are male and you get a girl pregnant then you should be out with other then honorable discharge. We all learn about the regulation on sex out of wedlock while in basic. The offense here is not getting pregnant its violating regulation.

What the hell is wrong with you people? Yes, the general went a little over board with the whole court martial thing but I feel as if a "Letter of Reprimand" is still to lite a punishment. You join the military to server you're country, not have sex and get(get someone else) pregnant. Both parties should be punished. How hard is it to use protection(condom, pill, patch etc). You sign away your rights the day you sign your papers. If you dont like it, DONT JOIN. Dirtbags are trying to get pregnant/get women pregnant to avoid serving overseas. Tough titties. a)get on birthcontrol b)Dont have sex/use a condom downrange and c) STOP JOINING THE ARMY IF YOU DONT WANT TO FIGHT.
