The gas industry convened a panel discussion and job-focused networking event at Ohio State University, intending to promote shale development and horizontal hydro-fracking across Ohio. Here's a student response to the gas industry presentation.

  • I am 57 years old. I have been waiting for this moment of awakening for my whole adult life. Thank God it's finally here. I was very politically active in the 70's and 80's but it was post-Vietnam and it seemed like everyone was asleep. The 90's was the decade of the glorification of greed. Then came all the fear of post 9/11. Finally people are saying enough is enough! I am SO PROUD of the young people today. I am so grateful for their conscious, loving leadership. Let the youth show the way!

  • Thank you Ohio students for speaking the truth about fracking. The oil and gas companies are only out for profits and our politicans are their puppets. Need to mention too that this gas mainly goes to China. Oil and gas goes on a global market and usually does not stay here in the U.S. So it is all bull when politicans talk about energy independence. That won't happen if we keep exporting. These companies will never admit to the poisining of our land, air and water. They claim it is all "safe"!

  • I agree that we should stop hydrofracking, but I believe this because it will be quickly exaughsted, but there is no proof that it poisons water or air

  • He's hot.

  • I made a compilation of the highest-profile mic checks, involving people like Geraldo Rivera, Michelle Bachmann, Karl Rove. It's called "Occupy vs. Top 1%" Check it out!

  • Yes! Give 'em hell, kids! "We won't stop until you do... "

  • I am very proud of these young people they are our future and with young people like this it can only get better, I also see the greed of the gas and oil companies here in Pa. I own ground on a trout stream that back in the early 70s had native trout but since the polution from gas oil and coal the fish commision put signs up that say it is polluted and it is, the heilbender which is like a giant lizard has became extinct here when there plenty back in the early 70s, WEALTHY GREED UGHHHH.

  • So well done, thank you!!!!

  • BAD ASS

  • wordthefuckup

  • @Prophit0 What I was wondering after I watched it is why do the walk out and let the meeting continue? I don't know the details of the event or why they chose this tactic, but I think it partly answers your question. While it was a confrontation, to those that organized the meeting, it was a mere 2 minute distraction then it was over and they got back to business. As long as protestors don't actually disrupt their business, there is no reason for police.

  • @la1rose (cont) The government and old people are so angry! trying to hurt them? It is the only way, tho, bcuz that just show the violence of the way things really are.

    NO MORE SHEEPLES!
