damn you noisegator!!! you got me this time! (i had to go back a to find out what you were talking about) ...but it was worth it.

    thanks for the laugh!

    cheers and good day

  • @destin325 " (almost laughed) "

    .

Then my job here is "almost" done.

speaking of the word "love" ...you should check out the movie "waking life" it was an independent film about 10 years old but essentially it talks about inert words like "love" and what your perception of it will be totally different than what i perceive as being "love" ...right now, i love the conversation that we are having, but I LOVE my wife in a different, way than this. These words are inert since its only THIS example that im able to use that specific word

  • @destin325 Oh it took hell out of me to think about all the arguments that favor faith and the ones that go against it, it simply overwhelmed me how little faith has to offer and how much evidence is important when it comes to understanding things, it felt as if the basics of life are based of evidence, like for example, a person says they love you, but never bothers to show it to you, they simply say it, what reasons does one have to believe in their love? The same thing happens with god.

I believe that "trying to understand everything" is absolutely futile.

google, wiki, etc...are GREAT at giving you an idea about subjects..but being a subj matter exp is far from an article from any of these sites.

I am only at the beginning phase of trying to understand...maybe i am a bit slow on discrediting religion but until i can answer the questions fired at me, i am not ready to move onto a phase of changing it.

  • @destin325 I believe the core of religion is humans attempt to understand everything. To me science is the next step in understanding, and perhaps better science will be born in the future for people to understand things better. I find religion silly, even if it would be wonderful to have heroes like Hercules its appealing cause in our society fiction has been promoted as cool and reality as dull,so perhaps I find myself appealed more on reality rather than the idea of supernatural explanations.

the way iv been reading religious texts has been from a philosophical stand point....but from my understanding....religion is easily falsifiable on the premise that ....to create the universe, the creator must be more advanced than which has been created...(god) yet, here we are today..discussing what god wants, god needs, etc.....yet we are not nearly as advanced as the creator...its as if we are gears in a cola machine trying to explain how the machine was designed.

  • @destin325 I was a christian but I was always a skeptic I always question religion in every way asking why. Then after I took a look at the universe I came to understand that man kind cannot possibly know such a complicated entity that created all of this. I just find religion too easy, to give credit to a creator for all of this, I accept that all of this could have come about with events that worked all on their own, to me the existence of a god is irrelevant, so I don't bother to look for 1

  • @RetardedSociety

its hard to tell if you were meaning that you were one thing and are now another....but if i can provide any ...well, any relief to you and your feelings of being unsure

I just wrapped up a BA in Law..iv studies in a way or another religion, law, history, etc....yet to this day i will not call my self an atheist.

I am a person seeking god. ...there are hundreds of religious books that i have not yet read and until I do, i cannot discredit what i dont understand.

  • @destin325 College actually gave me the last push to doubt into my atheism, in public schools in my country we got religion mixed up, so it was hard to see pass the curtain, but in college I studied a lot about medieval history, religion in general, philosophy, it gave me what I needed so I could go out there and see that evidence does matter.
