purity rings

so I bought my first purity ring yesterday I've been wanting one for a long time...but now I'm curious to know what do you think about purity rings?

I can't say I have much of an opinion on these purity rings. If people want a symbol of their choice then that's fine by me. But I don't think it should be confused with the actual choice, as abstinence isn't done by simply wearing a piece of jewelry.

One thing I hate is when girls who have premarital sex are called sluts, whores, etc..

I've seen such things on the internet and it makes me real sad and angry.

I, myself, have no plans to wait with sex until marriage. I'll just use a condom. :P

totally agree though with the whole symbol thing. but like I said it's a reminder of my promise I made to god. (or a symbol of my promise if u will). yah it sucks being called (insert name here) if u do have sex be4 marrige. But it's also not fair for the world to look down on or even pick on and make those who haven't feel like crap. *shrug*

I've had my purity ring for almost a year now(9-19-09) and I think alot of people only wear them for the jonas brothers, miley,selena, and Demi but I wear mine for God and myself. I can still take mine off and still wait till mariage. And the way people act towards people with purity rings get on my nerves. I'm glad you have decided to get one for youself, God, and your future husband. :)

I've never heard of purity rings until I found out that Selena Gomez wears one. It wasn't until much, much later when I decide to wear one (and still do so now). I got the idea to wear one to show what I believe in and also to remind myself not to make the same mistake two of my friends made.

u made an amazing choice and those people that only wear these rings cuz of the jonas bros. are not really commited and are upsetting god. i myself hate the jonas brothers and i knew nothing about them wearing purity rings until now and the same goes with every1 else. i only know 1 person who has a purity ring. good for you on making that choice. premarital sex is a sin to god and im happy that your choosing to back that up.

I think it is a wonderful thing you have chosen to do...and your ring is good too. I don't think the Jonas bros or other trend setters actually are abstinate, I think they pretend they are to be popular w/ teens :)

As for me I would like to do what you do but it is very hard thing. I admire you and anyone who can and does!
