God, I'm soooooooo fucking glad I don't have to live in a country where people need fucking GUNS to feel safe. I live in Europe, few people have guns other than shotguns (hunters), and yet the crime rate is like .01% of the US. How does that work out????

District of Columbia". Since 1960, over 1,000,000 Americans have been murdered. Most of the murders are released from prison in a few years, and the US has more killers on the street than police officers. In the last 40 or so years, there has been nearly 50 million violent crimes. I always carry extra ammo.

In the UK it is so hard to own a gun let alone wait 4 months for bullets. We only aloud to have "double barrel shotguns" or 3 shots 2 in a mag and 1 in the chamber (28cm and 2 inch thick barrel) and single shot rifles and snub loading pistols. It sucks over here. We have to go through police checks, why and why shouldn't you own a gun, doctors note etc..

Self defense is not something you can outright predict. Any half intelligent person understands that to the fullest extent.

@corpralj3 My way of defense is called "intelligence", which all boils down to "not living somewhere where you need to carry a gun to feel safe and not living in a place that's awash with crazy people who think killing other people is something admirable". I can also thrown a mean right hook if I have to, but thankfully haven't in years, that's always plan B. You think America must be the safest place in the world, yet the gun death rate is what, more than 200 other countries COMBINED? Huh?
