What I find really silly is that British museum is named "British museum" and not "British International museum", since the majority of the items displayed are from other countries and have absolutely nothing to do with Britain's heritage.

@beebisbiasedbigtime True. The Greeks were indifferent about these bits of sculpture. They were just like thousands of other artifacts littered and scattered all around Greece at the time, disregaded and half buried in the dirt. The Parthenon was just another wrecked building, no more considered than we regard a derelict warehouse today.
