My "TAZ" was super loyal. He was an orange manx, with quite the personality. I was living in the Upper Penninsula (MI) when one night I heard terrible screams outside and found my manx yelling at a wild manx under my car. Someone deliberately killed my cat of ten years, and I've never gotten over missing him. Would love to get another pet Manx someday.

@Malcontent1 aaah i see :P thnx for the info :D

@tamara2622 Pure-bred Manx cats can have any length of tail - from a full tail to nothing at all. It's a genetic mutation that shortens the tail. So the length depends on how much the mutation penetrates. If cats have 2 full copies of the mutation, they often die before they're born or shortly after.

@Akutare the ones with tails are called stumpies... the ones with out are called Manx!

my manx is the most loving cat i have ever owned

It's true what you say - the lack of a tail is responsible for lots of stomach problems, arthritis, walking problems, neurological problems and many other things. My manx has had lots of problems ever since she was really young. But she's the best pet I've ever had hands down. She's a gift from God to me

Manx cats are the cutest cat breed that I have ever seen!

@tamara2622 Manx cats are bread with other cats because what gives them the little nub tails also cause many spinal problems later in life. Breeding them with other cats helps Manx cats live longer happier lives.

When I graduated eight grade, my Dad asked me what I wanted as a gift. I didn't know and told him I'd think about it. About a week after graduation my family and me were at a Mall where they had a pet store. In the cat cage there were two Manx kittens, one orange and the other grey among the many other kittens including Siamese. The orange Manx was the ruler of the group by far. I said to my Dad "I want tnat cat". He ruled the neighborhood just like the cage for 14 years. Morris i STILL MISS YOU

those are no manx cats... those are bobtails right? couse i thought manx catd didnt have a tail at all.
Having had many different cats over the years, I have to say that Manx are the most well-mannered, loving, and (surprisingly) loyal breed I've ever owned.
