  • I posted this video a couple of years ago when Chamonix had no web info. I made this quick vid to try to show all the movements, so potential buyers would have some idea. As for the music - Liz janes is a friend of mine and she is an amazing musician. This song is unusual in her repertoire, but was the same length as my hacked-together video. I like to support local artists / musicians / craftsmen. For the record, I planned to buy a Phillips 8x10 (from MI - i'm in IN) but Dick Phillips retired.

  • Did you ever get the 4x5 mccormick?

    THx,

    Eric

  • @ericandre80 Nope. I have a Toyo and Sinar 4x5.

  • It appears to be a very well designed camera. I love how compact it is when folded up and it must be very light weight. I am curious about it's stability, though - not to suggest that it wouldn't be stable but it's been my experience that lightweight 8x10" cameras are often very unstable and act like a sail in the wind. I would like to try one.

  • It's surprisingly stable. When everything is tightened it is quite rigid. I use an aluminum tripod rather than carbon fiber, and I think that helps. My pack with the camera, 5 film holders and 3 big lenses is only about 25 pounds. I'm really happy with it and thinking about getting a 4x5 as well.

  • What a beauty.

  • Beautiful camera - would love to have one.

Re Music comments - Its a bit intrusive - possibly some Glen Miller in the background!

Either way - its still a lovely camera.

    Thankyou for the video.

  • oh mama

  • Fantastic video! And don't let these haters say your choice in music's bad... they're really saying "I wish I had a camera like that". I thought the music was really catchy and refreshing!

    Keep up the good work!

  • I have been contemplating getting a cham for months now.. this has sealed the deal.. smooth movements. Thanks : )

  • Interesting and handsome tool you have there. Thanks for the demonstration.

  • Great video, very informative. However, if you could replace the music with something less annoying it would be perfect.
