Cool video man, Is the zoom on the camera itself not good enough to do this sort of thing? Also what's the machinery noise going on?

Ive no idea wot that noise was,I think it may have been the lens cover swinging on its wee string and hitting against something.

the zoom is great on the camera,its 10X optical which is amazing most digital cameras have 3X or maybe 5X.

it was actually home made,it was made using an old cheap kids set of binoculars,i just took one of the large lens' out along with the rubber cup that surrounded it,luckily enuff it fit snuggly around the camera lens.

Sounds like the noise is the camera auto-focusing.

I've been thinking of getting some decent lenses for my S5800 and trying out some filming because I hate using my old mini DV cameras.

I like the short depth of field you got with this. I'll have to look out for some old binoculars to dismantle!
