The seventh dungeon of Pikmin 2: Snagret Hole. ( Part 5 )

This time, I cut away the parts where I have to save. Will be a lot better to watch.

This is in my opinion the first of the harder dungeons. The boss is easy, but ( this sounds weird ) the mini bosses, who are all Burrowing Snagrets, are a lot harder. I always have a hard time fighting them.. although I also always end without losing Pikmin. The sixth floor is the hardest, two snagrets, a lot of water and poison. Another thing about this dungeon are the antenna bugs who mess with your treasure seeker.

The treasures are:
Crystallized Telekinesis
Leviathan Feather
Combustion Berry
Taste Sensation
Meat Satchel
Heavy-duty Magnetizer
Cupid's Grenade
Crystallized Telepathy
Crystallized Clairvoyance
Emperor Whistle
Stupendous Lens
Mysterious Remains
Science Project
Salivatrix
Triple Sugar Threat
Justice Alloy

Boss: Pileated Snagret
Boss note: This is easier than the normal snagrets. Because this thing walks, it can be stunned by the purple Pikmin. When he comes out of the floor, just throw your Purple Pikmin to it and it will dug away before he eats while you did damage. Repeat the process to kill it.
Olimars journal: This variety of snagret has both the ability to burrow underground and walk above it. It earthy red coloration and distinct yellow eye and ear markings make it immediately recognizable. Despite featuring a chimera-like merging of serpent and avian features, the Pileated Snagret has poor eyesight for a bird, perhaps due to the extended periods spent underground. To compensate for this, its nose features a thermal-sensing organ common to many snakes, making it a dangerously effective hunter.

Note: I entered with 95 Pikmin. After clearing the dungeon I knew I rather had brought some less because of the massive amount of queen candypop flowers. But whatever, got a whole bunch of Pikmin, getting more than I lose. Personally, I start to find my red Pikmin a bit useless. I only use them for fire, because battling is for the purple ones. I normally throw the red ones in candypop flowers from this moment on.

  • Actually, I beleive reds can save burning pikmin, whites choking, and yellow electrified. Not sure though.

Also, for them to save their brethren, they need to be inacive, or glowy. I tested with a red and a blue.

  • No problem. ^^

  • they can? wow thanks, I didn't know that^^ that's the type of info that could come in handy in future explorations
