How To Freeze off a Lock with Compressed Air - Biola University

This video shows you how to use items that you can get at a local store to freeze off a lock.

You'll need:
- One can of compressed air (used to dust keyboards, computers, etc.)
- A glove or oven mitten
- A hammer

When you turn the can upside down, the liquid that's inside it sprays out.

NOTE: This liquid is actually NOT Liquid Nitrogen, but fluorocarbons which create a cooling effect when evaporated, (like rubbing alcohol.)

Also know that I only did this because I forgot my combination and saw a great opportunity to do something neat. I'm pretty sure that I sprayed too much on it, but I wanted to make sure it would work!

Interesting. Does it work better when you have a flat surface to work with, or would an elevated bike lock be susceptible as well?

@eldrewto55 It should work just as well. The only benefit of having it on a flat surface is making it easier to hit, but it's so fragile that you could probably just kick it with a shoe and it'd break.
