This was taken at Catty Shack Ranch - a big cat rescue in Jacksonville, FL, during a night feeding which was open to the public. This tiger has an established relationship with the owner of this rescue, but wild animals do NOT make good pets, and people who try to raise them as pets are a main reason there are so many in need of refuge now.

  • My aunt used to work in a hospital for the mentally ill. All employees were trained to back out of a patient's room - i.e., never turn your back, or you'd be vulnerable to assault.

    If you must enter a cage with a tiger, I'd suggest you (at the least!) not turn your back on it. Not that it would matter if it decided that you were a snack. But at least you'd see death coming and could say a final prayer. (8^(
