sometimes i feel i belong to another generation, how i would have loved to watch monk, bird, dizzy and the rest of them, when i'm stuck in this time enduring the modern pop-crap

Rare indeed. The drum solo mirrors Monk's solo inventions beautifully. That's almost never true of drum solos and makes its length too short rather than too long!
