A Street Fighter II phantom throw compilation by me.

It contains rare footage of a famous and fabled Street Fighter II glitch: The Phantom throw.

Be on the lookout for other Street Fighter II glitch videos from me.

It's short and sweet, enjoy !

About the moves:

most moves rely on doing a standard player move with a joystick, but pressing two buttons instead instead of one.

the trick is to press one button slightly before the other.

early versions of street fighter 2 had this exploit.

this overloads the character control buffer and puts it to another position in the characters sprite/move map.

It's called move cancelling, sprite cancelling, or button cancelling.

a phantom throw is a sonic boom, but with fierce and roundhouse a little early.

handcuffs is a throw into a sonic kick, using strong and forward, with strong occurring early.

you can reset the game the same way as handcuffs, but with fierce and round house.

the only way out of handcuffs is the phantom throw ;)

glad you liked the vid (:, have fun practicing these as they require a lot of timing.

  • you'd get the shit beaten out of you if you magic throw other people back in the day

  • that's right ;)

  • It is called the magic throw, not the phantom throw..

  • the wonderful thing about language is we both know what eachother are talking about.

  • @kikibaby2000 Those were the days ...

  • Does anyone know what this version is actually called? It's my favourite version. I'm about to buy an arcade machine with like 1900 games :) but I want to make sure it has the version so I can super throw, super freeze and super turnoff (yep, those are the original names). I can still remember how to do them all and am absolutely dying to do them again. You could actually do three super throws in a row, which would finish your opponent, but it was super hard to coordinate three back2back quickly

  • @kikibaby2000 Anyone who beat someone up because of a video game has a small penis and will definitely die a virgin.

  • there was 2 more glitch i learned at the arcade when i was a youth.

the freeze (guile) with his elbow rise up while standing like a karate kid.

the other one is the complete black out (machine would reset itself up)

  • @aiglefan yep invisible throw was everyone using that time. Had to give second round to the other guy to make the killing more enjoyable hahaha

  • oh man i luv u for uploading this! I use to does that when i was a kid at the arcade :D

beat pretty much everyone using that glitch.

hold back and spam 2 buttons. i won't tell through hehe. this only work on the arcade i heard and they fixed it.

  • hisoka?
