It doesn't really require all that much math to think about. Really, you could just say that it doesn't take up as much space in one position because of the shape of the other.

the line runing from red tip to the blue tip is not a straight line
slope ratio is diffrent
Red: 8/3 = 2.6 recuring
Blue: 5/2 = 2.5
this makes the forth point of the polygon the point of red organge and blue intersect.
first "triangle" is like a car spoiler
