I am a fellow of Corpus Christi College, Oxford, and for this woman to describe either of our classical institutions as Ivy League is insulting, Red Brick? Yes, Russel Group? Yes, but not Ivy league, it is a disgrace

This is tedious.

why would this dreadful narrator call oxbridge ivy league??? and as for the rest of it, british humour clearly goes over her tiny little american head

Oh they would focus on the paedophila part wouldn't they? But totally in the wrong way. It's subverting our expectations. We hear the phrase "child molestation" and we recoil in horror, yet by the end of the film, he's not a paedophile but a person. A loved character. And he ends up teaching them the most important lesson: "Pass the parcel. That's sometimes all you can do."

@asathesh Yes like Sylvia Plath ruining Ted Hughes. (or was it vice versa?)

Does anyone know the brand of the satchel/school bag Dakin carries in the film? I've been looking for a proper one and like the look and size of his.

"...IVY LEAGUE COLLEGES IN AWXFURD and CAYMBWIJE."

haha what's with all the vitriol against the Americans? We come across so, so insecure.
-
@stylishsid as good?? They're far better. Most ivy league schools are private, which is a total joke, english are public.

@AviatorAndyK To be fair, UCL isn't as good as Ivy Leagues now is it?
god that american whore really has a grating voice
And how dare she refer to oxford and cambridge as Ivy league colleges? As is they would want to be associated with american further education

IVY LEAGUE....IVY LEAGUE???? Give me a break, this movie is SO far removed from anything American, why even bother to try to associate it at all? Great movie all about 'as it was" in the elite stream of English education, PRIOR to comprehensive education. (remember grammar school)
