  • He looks like he hates his life..

  • @ballerboy27100 Well it is generally recommended you align both the magnet and the sensor close to the axle because the wheel is spinning slowest there. That way the sensor has ample time to detect the magnet so that you don't get strange readings at high speeds.

  • @bipedalame No matter where along the spoke you place the magnet it will be the same rpm, you're right. However the speed greatly varies along the length of the spoke. Closer to the rim is faster, closer to hub is slower. Placing the magnet closer to the hub allows the sensor more time to "see" the magnet and helps to avoid innaccurate readings. Pretty simple stuff, as I said earlier, would you rather hang on to the tip of a windmill blade or sit at the center? Which end is moving faster? Think.

  • bike man for u seems better to me

  • @kjplive both of you are wrong . they are both spinning at the same speed. attached to the same hub. they both do the same rpm. the nearer the spoke to the rim , the greater distance it travels. if it's closer to the hub, it has to be stronger.

  • @JJAJJA wired computers don't go mad when surrounded by other wired computers.

  • kinda looks like aaron rodgers....

  • It's not cool if your computer has a wire.... gosh...

  • @Wooxful Wheel is spinning fastest at the outside. The magnet will have passed the sensor the same number of times regardless of the placement of the sensor, however the actual speed of which the magnet is travelling IS faster the closer to the tire it is.

Think of a windmill blade, would you rather hang on to the very tip as it spins or closer to the shaft?

  • @s0meguy0001 Surely someone that only cares about picking up speed... I'd rather have slick gears than powerful brakes. I run Ultegra shifters with Tektro brakes!

  • @Wooxful No... the wheel "spins" slower, the closer it is to the axle.....

  • @xWHITExEAGLEx Objections! Wheel is spinning fastest the closer axle. Think about it makes sence.
