Messina Wildlife's 2011 Rose Bowl Parade Float, presented by designer AES Creative

Every home gardener dreams of the touch of having a "green thumb". Then you're standing in your kitchen admiring a family of deer or a big-eyed rabbit visiting your garden that you've put countless hours into to making just perfect. Then... CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP! And the animals start to dine on your freshly planted roses. Messina Wildlife makes products that stop them in their tracks! A fun play off of this year's parade theme, "Building Dreams, Friendships and Memories" this float depicts this setting by creating a home gardener's dream garden. Humans and animals are able to share their outdoor garden space by the use of Messina Wildlife's Animal Stoppers. "In Good Nature" we build dreams, friendships and memories. A person builds their perfect "dream" garden, friendships are bridged and lasting memories are created through the activity of home gardening.
On this float a lush garden is created through corn stalks made of real corn on the cob, and barrels of real pumpkins, watermelons and peaches and a wheel barrel filled with vibrant flowers and vegetables. Riders will stand in the middle of the garden while animals are perching upon the edge of the garden. The garden is protected by Messina Wildlife's Animal Stoppers. The use of Messina Wildlife's Animal Stoppers is created through the faces and reactions of the animals. It has been applied to the garden and the animals are safely and effectively avoiding the garden. A raccoon runs the opposite direction; while a chipmunk packs his belongings and hitch hikes his way out of the garden; a buck and a rabbit hold their noses with plugs to ward off the smell as a deer turns its nose up. Even though the product doesn't stink to the humans you use it, the animals are repelled from the garden area!
